The original photographs of Mauritius were taken by my father, the
late Arthur Eric Jones,
who served as a Telegraphist Air Gunner in the Fleet Air Arm during
the Second World War. They were taken during shore leave from his
Indian Ocean service on HMS
Sussex in 1943.
I photographed the same locations whilst on honeymoon in Mauritius
in June 2002 giving the opportunity to compare change on the island
over a 59 year period.
